Corpsmembers of the Month – May

From UCC Coachella Valley, we’re proud to recognize Mario Fontes as our May Corpsmember of the Month! Mario is 19 years old from Cathedral City. Though he’s only been with the Urban Conservation Corps for five months, Mario has already made a lasting impression. He shows up on time, works hard, and brings a reliable, positive attitude to every project. When asked what he enjoys most about the UCC, Mario says, “The UCC offers great work experience in a good environment.” He encourages others to join, adding, “It’s a great way to start your life of employment.” Mario’s advice to newcomers? “Be open to learning new things and working with others. I’m glad for the experience.” We’re lucky to have you on the team, Mario – congratulations!

From UCC San Bernardino, we’re excited to celebrate Jacob Holder as our May Corpsmember of the Month! Jacob, 24, hails from Adelanto, CA, and has been a dedicated member of the Corps for eight months. He’s taken full advantage of training opportunities and consistently brings a strong work ethic and a spirit of teamwork to the field. Jacob shares, “I love the work that we do here.” He encourages others to join, even if they’re unsure at first, saying, “Join for the experience – you never know.” Reflecting on his time with the Corps, Jacob says, “I’m very grateful for this program. I got to experience the trainings, the work, and the people.” Thank you, Jacob, for your drive, your effort, and your heart!

A huge thank you from SCMF to our entire UCC crew – your dedication and passion are the foundation of everything we do. Keep up the great work!
