Guided Nature Walk @ Big Bear Discovery Center
Feb 24 all-day

Join a Discovery Center volunteer and naturalist for a guided hike on our 1/2 mi. loop trail. Learn about the native flora and fauna and the development of the Big Bear Valley. Free, easy, and open to all!

Tours are dependent on volunteer availability. Call our front desk the day you would like to come and explore to see what times our walks will be taking place!

Snowshoe Eco-Tours @ Towne Trail
Feb 24 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Join a Naturalist for a guided snowshoe tour in the San Bernardino National Forest. You will learn how to snowshoe, go for a guided trek through the forest, learn about how plants and animals adapt in winter and have some exploration time as well!

Snowshoes, trekking poles, snack and water are included. Please wear warm clothing, layers, and waterproof boots or shoes. Tours are dependent on snow conditions. Participants meet at the south east public parking lot on Knickerbocker/Pennsylvania across from Big Bear Elementary School (on Pennsylvania Rd. south of Big Bear Blvd). Our guide will meet you there and the group will walk approximately 1/3 mile to the start of Towne trail.

Bald Eagle Talk and Viewing @ Dana Point Park, Fawnskin

Join a Big Bear Discovery Center Volunteer as they talk about the local bald eagles and their nest. Look you look through a spotting scope to see the resident bald eagles and study them more closely. Free and open to all!

Eagle Talk and Nest Camera @ Big Bear Discovery Center

Join a Big Bear Discovery Center Naturalist on Sundays from 10 am – 12pm and learn more about out local Bald Eagles. A presentation on these unique and fascinating birds will be given and an up close viewing of their nest through a wildlife camera.
