The Line Fire
September 2024 – Containment on the Line Fire continues to increase due to the courageous efforts of federal, local and state emergency personnel working to keep our communities safe. The Southern California Mountains Foundation extends heartfelt gratitude to the committed first responders who are working tirelessly on the front lines. We also want to thank the amazing volunteers of the Fire Lookouts and other programs of the SCMF that have tirelessly watched over the forest and dedicated time to keeping the community safe.
During this time, being aware of roads, trails, and forest closures in advance ensures the well-being, safety and recovery efforts continue during these challenging times. The public is kindly urged to refrain from traveling to fire damaged areas, areas experiencing evacuation warnings and forest closures during this critical period. Your cooperation is vital in maintaining clear roadways for emergency vehicles and ensuring the safety of both the community and those combating the wildfire. We deeply appreciate everyone’s understanding, respect, and solidarity as we navigate these challenging days. Together, we will work towards securing a safer and brighter future for our public lands.
Volunteers with SCMF are currently getting back to the forest to help inform the public about closures, etc. Please stay tuned for future updates through our social media channels, thank you!
