OHV Input Being Sought

SCMF is seeking public comments on two preliminary grants submitted on March 2, 2020 to the State of California Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division (OHMVRD). These draft applications were based on public and staff feedback given in January and February and seek to support OHV education and safety efforts in the San Bernardino National Forest (SBNF). Funding is being requested to support OHV education and volunteer staff, the production and distribution of OHV Guides/maps for the SBNF, the purchase and distribution of educational handouts, and upgrades to the education outreach trailer.

Comments can be submitted from Tuesday, March 3rd through Monday, May 4, 2020 by 5 pm.

The Southern California Mountains Foundation, the San Bernardino National Forest, and the State of California Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division has enjoyed a successful partnership for the past 16 years restoring forest lands and providing quality OHV education programs.

Full proposals can be read at the California State Parks OHV website at http://ohv.parks.ca.gov.  Public review and comment instructions are available under the “Grants” tab. The Foundation will review and consider all public comments and submit the final application to the State on June 1, 2020. Hard and digital copies are available by contacting Linda Stamer at [email protected] or 909-382-2738.

Comments are required to be submitted to the California State parks via their website by May 4th.
