Corpsmembers of the Month
The Southern California Mountains Foundation is happy to announce Corpsmembers of the month for July!
In San Bernardino is Carlos Martinez, he says, “I am 19 years old and I am Originally from Escondido CA. I’ve been with the UCC since March 2026. Working is fun in my opinion and I like working with people on my different crews. Others should join because it teaches you a lot of knowledge about plants and trees and it opens a lot of doors for potential job opportunities. Everyone has a great attitude, is supportive, and fun. The day goes by too fast. Advice for new corpsmembers would be, Don’t be scared to try new things and ask questions. If you don’t know something, the team will always have an answer.”
From Coachella is Alejandro Cobos, stating, “I am 19 years old and I’m from the City of Coachella. I’ve been with the UCC since February 2026. I love working here and would like to take on a leadership position in the future. Others should join because of the great people, great bosses, everyone’s in high spirits and the work is extremely fulfilling. Working with other corpsmembers is fantastic. This job has taught me work is easier when you get to know people. The advice I would give new corpsmembers or people thinking about joining is to go on Spikes. Get to know your coworkers and environment, find bugs and critters, have fun! I would like to add, that I love it here, specially when working educational booths. I love telling people about this job and its opportunities.”
Big thank you to every crew and Corpsmember for the incredible work you do linking community with conservation- we are proud of you!!
