April Corpsmembers of the Month

Congratulations to our April Corpsmembers of the Month!
From UCC–Coachella Valley, we are proud to recognize Dustin Kurtz. Dustin is 23 years old and originaly from San Diego. He’s been with the Urban Conservation Corps for about 3 months and has been an outstanding corpsmember. Dustin shares, “I enjoy working outside in nature and seeing wild critters.” He encourages others to join the UCC, saying, “This opportunity offers a lot of trainings and certifications that are valuable in this job market.” When asked about working with fellow Corpsmembers, Dustin says “Everyone is friendly and fun to work around. I want to thank the UCC for the opportunity to give back to the environment and learn practical, real-world skills.”
From UCC–San Bernardino, we’re thrilled to celebrate Latravis Farmer. Latravis is 23 years old and from Redlands. He’s been with UCC for 1 year and always comes in to work with a positive and uplifting personality to go along with a good work ethic. “I enjoy working at the UCC because it allows me to visit places I’ve never seen before. The UCC has also helped me work with new and interesting people,” he says. Latravis believes others should join because “it’ll help you gain experience for a career and how to work with others.” When asked about his experience with the team, he shares, “it has been very eye opening, I’ve gotten a lot of different perspectives from everyone here.” Latravis adds, “The UCC has helped me with job stability which has helped me keep a roof over my head, get a car, and also help take care of my sisters and family.”
A huge thank you from SCMF to our entire UCC crew—your hard work, commitment, and passion are what make this program thrive. Keep up the amazing work!
