Corpsmembers of the Month – March
Congratulations to our March Corpsmembers of the Month! From UCC–Coachella Valley, we are proud to recognize Chase Cochran as our March Corpsmember of the Month! Chase is 21 years old and from Indio. He’s been with the Urban Conservation Corps for about 5 months and has already shown incredible dedication and growth. Chase shares, “It’s a lot of hard work and it toughens me up—it beats working in a kitchen!” He encourages others to join the UCC, saying, “It guides you on the right path for your future.” When asked about working with fellow Corpsmembers, Chase says it’s both “exciting and challenging.” His advice to new or potential Corpsmembers: “It can benefit your life if you choose the right path by opening up better jobs in the future, especially with all the opportunities to get certifications and also internships.” While the work can be tough and tiring, especially in the heat, Chase says, “It’s definitely worth it when I get home.”
From the UCC–San Bernardino, we’re thrilled to celebrate Santiago Duran as our March Corpsmember of the Month! Santiago is 22 years old and from San Diego. He’s been with UCC for 3 months and already feels a strong connection to the mission. “I love it a lot and I think the work is amazing,” he says. Santiago believes others should join because “the work is fulfilling.” When asked about his experience with the team, he shares, “It’s fun, it’s a new journey and you meet different people.” Santiago adds, “I would like to keep moving down this path,” and we’re excited to see where this journey takes him.
A huge thank you from SCMF to our entire UCC crew—your hard work, commitment, and passion are what make this program thrive. Keep up the amazing work!
