Remembering Jackie
This month, our community said goodbye to Jackie, one of Big Bear Valley’s most beloved bald eagles. Since hatching here in 2012, Jackie inspired people around the world to learn more about bald eagles and the importance of protecting wildlife habitat. Her story is a reminder that we all leave a conservation footprint. Simple actions, properly disposing of trash and fishing line, respecting wildlife from a distance, staying on designated trails, and recreating responsibly, help protect the places wildlife depends on.
At the Mountains Foundation, we continue sharing these lessons through year-round education at the Big Bear Discovery Center and through our conservation and stewardship programs. In memory of Jackie, joining us in pledging to be a conservation ambassador by taking one small step to reducing your footprint.
