Southern California Mountains Foundation Seeks Public Input on Preliminary Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) State Grants

  • OHV

The Southern California Mountains Foundation is seeking public comments on our preliminary grant submitted on March 1, 2020, to the State of California Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division (OHMVRD) for 2022. This draft application was based on public and staff feedback given in January and February and seeks to support forest OHV restoration efforts on the San Bernardino National Forest (SBNF). Funding is being requested to support OHV restoration and volunteer staff, as well as crew time to help implement large-scale work projects. SCMF is also seeking funds for the production and distribution of OHV Guides/maps for the SBNF.

Comments can be submitted from Tuesday, March 2nd through Monday, May 3, 2021, by 5 pm.

The Southern California Mountains Foundation, the San Bernardino National Forest, and the State of California Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division have had a successful partnership for the past 18 years restoring forest lands and providing quality OHV education programs.

Full proposals can be read at the California State Parks OHV website at http://www.ohv.parks.ca.gov.  Public review and comment instructions are available under the “Grants” tab. The Foundation will review and consider all public comments and submit the final application to the State on June 7, 2021. Hard and digital copies are available by contacting Linda Stamer at [email protected].

Comments are required to be submitted to the California State parks via their website (under the Grants tab) by May 3rd.
