
Southern California Mountains Foundation Seeks Public input on OHV State Grants
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif., February 9, 2026 –The Southern California Mountains Foundation (SCMF) is seeking public and stakeholder comments regarding its intent to apply for upcoming 2027 grants from the State of California Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division (OHMVRD). This opens the first public comment period, which is an opportunity to give feedback on what the public would like to see in SCMF’s proposals. Comments for this preliminary application period can be submitted until February 27, 2026, by email to lstamer@mountainsfoundation.org.
SCMF will review and consider all public comments before submitting its preliminary application to the State on March 2, 2026. The Foundation is currently considering two proposals that will support Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) restoration activities on the San Bernardino National Forest and on lands managed by the Coachella Valley Conservation Commission. A public online meeting will be held on February 17, 2026 at 6:00pm and for stakeholders February 17, 2026 at 7:00pm:

SCMF encourages constructive comments and suggestions that will help strengthen its programs and support the restoration of land damaged by unauthorized off-highway vehicle use
The Southern California Mountains Foundation has maintained a successful partnership with the San Bernardino National Forest and the Coachella Valley Conservation Commission for several years and has participated in multiple restoration projects on lands managed by these agencies.
