The Big Bear Discovery Center is your gateway to exploring the San Bernardino National Forest and all that makes Big Bear special. From guided nature walks with certified naturalists to story time, wildlife tracking, learning about bald eagles and local snakes, birdhouse-building workshops, and hands-on Junior Ranger activities for kids, there’s always something fun happening for all ages.

Visitors can also stop in for trail maps, recreation information, and local insight from passionate staff and volunteers who love sharing knowledge about the Big Bear area. Don’t forget to explore the gift store, filled with woodland-themed plushies, books, and educational items for outdoor lovers of all ages, with proceeds supporting public lands and conservation efforts.
