Celebrating the Planet & the People who Protect it

This month has been a powerful reminder that caring for our planet goes beyond a single day – it’s a shared, ongoing effort. From our Earth Day celebration at the Big Bear Discovery Center to Volunteer Appreciation Week, we’ve seen what’s possible when community comes together.

Our Urban Conservation Corps crews have been hard at work, partnering with major events like Coachella to recycle thousands of bottles and cans, while local volunteers have led cleanups, restoration projects, and habitat protection efforts across our forests. Events like Rigs & Restoration continue to grow, bringing people into the field to make a tangible impact.

Across all six of our programs, one thing is clear: this work is powered by people. Whether you give a few hours or make a long-term commitment, every effort helps protect the public lands we all love – keeping them open, wild, and accessible for generations to come.

Thank you to everyone who continues to show up and make a difference.
