Every month, the Urban Conservation Corps of the Inland Empire highlights Corpsmembers who demonstrate hard work, leadership, and teamwork in the field. For August 2025, we are proud to recognize Perryon Coleman from our San Bernardino crew and Gabriel Cisneros from our Coachella Valley crew!

San Bernardino: Perryon Coleman

At 21 years old, Perryon Coleman has spent the past 10 months growing his skills and making an impact with the UCC. Known for his reliability and positive attitude, Perryon shows up each day ready to work and ready to learn. His supervisors praise him for being enjoyable to work with and for his willingness to share what he knows with others.

When asked about his experience, Perryon shared, “I have learned a lot of new skills at the UCC.” He encourages others to join, highlighting the value of certifications and training that prepare young people for future careers: “It’s a great opportunity to learn something new and receive many certifications.”

Perryon adds that he enjoys working alongside his fellow corpsmembers, describing them as “great and friendly.” His energy, dependability, and mentorship make him a strong asset to the San Bernardino crew.

Coachella Valley: Gabriel Cisneros

Gabriel Cisneros, 20, from the City of Coachella, joined the UCC just two months ago but has already stood out as a dedicated and enthusiastic team member. Gabriel shows up early each day ready to contribute, and he’s known for being a quick learner who picks up new skills with ease.

“I enjoy UCC because it keeps me active and outdoors,” Gabriel says. For him, the program is not only about skill-building but also about personal growth and community. He encourages others to join because “it’s a great opportunity to learn new skills and make new friends.”

Gabriel also appreciates the teamwork and supportive environment of the Coachella Valley crew, adding, “The workplace is very comfortable and everyone is nice.” His positivity and eagerness to help others make him a valuable part of the team.
