Planning a summer hike? Great news – some of our favorite trails are open and ready to explore! While some areas remain closed due to the Line Fire, there are still plenty of beautiful places waiting for you. Now’s the perfect time to get outside, stretch your legs, and soak up the beauty of Big Bear’s open trails! Grab your friends, pack your gear, and let’s show the trails some love!
Here are a few trails currently open for your next adventure:
- Pine Knot Trail 1E01 – A classic Big Bear hike with sweeping views (only open as a loop option with Cabin 89)
- Cabin 89 Trail 1E24 – A peaceful trail perfect for a scenic stroll (only open as a loop option with Pine Knot)
- Towne Trail 1E27 – Connects Snow Summit to the Village, family-friendly and easy (open as an out-and-back)
- Fern Trail 1E31 – A lush trail with shaded pathways
- Castle Rock Trail 1W03 – Stunning panoramic views of Big Bear Lake and rock formations.
- Bristlecone Trail 1E32 – Mellow dog and bike-friendly loop near Snow Summit.
