We are now recruiting individuals ages 18-25 years old with a positive attitude who are interested in making a difference in their community.

You can make a difference in the world by protecting and restoring the San Bernardino National Forest. Join the Southern California Mountains Foundation AmeriCorps and use your energy, ideals, and talents to help preserve natural resources. Plus, you’ll earn money for education, learn to be a leader, and gain real job skills.

To become a member you must:

  • Have a full birth certificate (not a short version)

  • Be a US Citizen

  • Have a social security number/card

  • Be in good shape and able to hike in rough terrain

  • Be 18 – 25 years old

  • Be subject to a criminal background check

  • Have your own room, board, and transportation

  • Be available to serve on specific days of service, 3 days per week/10-hour days

  • California Volunteers

Benefits:

  • Monthly Living Allowance - Taxable $800

  • Eligibility for a $2,200 Education Award after completing 675 service hours

  • Training in forest restoration and other conservation related skills
