Cesar Chavez Day Observed at local Bobby Vega Park
San Bernardino, Calif. – March 22, 2017 -- The Southern California Mountains Foundation (SCMF) is pleased to announce that it will be celebrating the legacy of Cesar Chavez Day by planting a memorial garden at the local Bobby Vega Park in San Bernardino.
Since 1992 the Mountains Foundation has worked to inspire and engage individuals from all walks of life in environmental citizenship. Stacy Gorin, Executive Officer, Southern California Mountains Foundation states, “We believe that connecting communities to our public lands is key to their survival. Through the Southern California Mountains Foundation’s six programs and an army of volunteers, we work to steward the places you love to play and provide a workforce development program for underserved youth in conservation based fields.” On March 31, we will be celebrating Cesar Chavez day, while also honoring one of our own, Bobby Vega, whom carried the spirit of Cesar Chavez by working to improve the lives of underserved youth in the city of San Bernardino.
Volunteers and members of the public are encouraged to join us:
