2014 Summer Tours

Canoe Eco Tour

Learn how to canoe on a leisurely 2-hour guided tour of beautiful Big Bear Lake. After a quick paddling lesson, you will cruise along the shore looking for beaver, great blue herons, and ducklings. Along the way you will learn the natural history of the Big Bear Valley along with the various flora and fauna found in the area.  Children must be at least 6 years old and all children need to be accompanied by an adult.  Includes water and a snack.  Tours caravan to lake. Tours are limited to 20 people, reservations recommended.  

Fee: Adults $20, Children (6-12) $10 
Fridays: 4-6pm (May 23-Aug 29)
Sundays: 1-3pm (May 25-Aug 31)

Kayak Eco Tour

Learn how to kayak on a guided tour of Big Bear Lake. After a quick paddling lesson, you will cruise along the shore looking for wildlife and discuss the natural history of the Big Bear Valley.  Children must be at least 10 years old and all children need to be accompanied by an adult.  Includes water and a snack.  Tour caravans to lake. Tours limited to 14 people, reservations required.

Fee: $30 per person, ages 10 and up  
Saturdays: 1-3pm, 4-6pm (May 24- Aug 30)
Sundays: 9-11am (May 25- Aug 31)

 

Nature Walks

Join a naturalist for a 30 minute walk around our forested grounds.  Nature walks meet at the bronze grizzly bear in front of the Discovery Center.  Free! 

Saturdays: 1pm and 2pm

Sundays: 11am and 12pm
