2014 Summer Tours- Canoe, Kayak & Hiking

Canoe Eco-Tour

Learn how to canoe on a leisurely 2-hour guided tour of beautiful Big Bear Lake. After a quick paddling lesson, you will cruise along the shore looking for beaver, great blue herons, and ducklings. Along the way you will learn the natural history of the Big Bear Valley along with the various flora and fauna found in the area.  Children must be at least 6 years old and all children need to be accompanied by an adult.  Includes water and a snack.  Tours caravan to lake. Tours are limited to 18 people, reservations recommended. 

Fee: Adults $20, Children (6-12) $10 
Fridays: 4-6pm (May 23-Aug 29)
Sundays: 1-3pm (May 25-Aug 31)

Kayak Eco-Tour

Learn how to kayak on a guided tour of Big Bear Lake. After a quick paddling lesson, you will cruise along the shore looking for wildlife and discuss the natural history of the Big Bear Valley.  Children must be at least 10 years old and all children need to be accompanied by an adult.  Includes water and a snack.  Tour caravans to lake. Tours limited to 14 people, reservations required.

Fee: $30 per person, ages 10 and up  
Saturdays: 1-3pm, 4-6pm (May 24- Aug 30)
Sundays: 9-11am (May 25- Aug 31)
 

Hiking Eco-Tour

Explore the San Bernardino National Forest and learn more about Southern California’s mountain habitat from a Southern California Mountains Foundation Naturalist on this 3-hour guided hike. Hikes depart from the base of Snow Summit and include lunch and a ride on the Scenic Sky Chair to the top where the views of Big Bear Lake and Mt. San Gorgonio are breathtaking. At the top, your guide will lead you along the trail taking in the cool mountain air through the expansive pine tree forest. Learn about the unique plants and animals that make this forest one of a kind. Join us for a day of hiking you’ll never forget! Tours meet at the base of Snow Summit in front of the Guest Relations office.

Fee: $ 45 Adult (ages 13 & up), $40 Junior (7-12)
Thursdays & Fridays: 10am-1pm (July 3- August 29)
